Hi Francesco, at the moment,

Hi Francesco,

at the moment, no. But Punakea should only move files to the folder once a tag is assigned, so there shouldn't be :)

today I got the proof that it's possible to move files to the folder using the standard drag and drop procedure without actually tagging them. I guess it'a a ram problem (but your the guru ;-) ) because I'm using a macbook air and when backing up on an usb drive using time machine everything slows down and I have strange behaviors. so, how can I check a document in punakea folder is tag orphan?

after 2 hours I quitted punakea and restarted and every document is tagged...
sorry for the hassle

Great that it worked out on

Great that it worked out on itself!

Just a general remark how these things happen: Punakea is based on OpenMeta, and OpenMeta is nothing more than a fancy way of giving Spotlight tag support. What this means, though, is that if Spotlight hangs for some reason, all OpenMeta applications suffer.

Your experience shows, though, that Spotlight will recover in allmost all cases, so it's only a temporary thing. Most of the time, it's just that Spotlight has to do a lot of work in the background that you don't even notice, but causes some delays.

Hope that clarified some things :)
