Future prognosis?

Hi guys,

I love this app, and would consider making a donation, depending on responses to this post:

I'm wondering about the likelihood of punakea continuing longterm. My main reason is I wouldn't like to adopt this method of file browsing for thousands of files (all of them stored in a single Finder folder with no hierarchy) only to one day lose access to the critical tags!

So, can you guarantee (as much as anything's guaranteeable in the digital world) either that punakea will continue to be supported for all future Apple OS's, or at least that the tag structure would be retrievable somehow?

Thanks.

Hi enoch! Sorry for the long

Hi enoch! Sorry for the long delay. As you may have read elsewhere in the forums here, we are currently in preparation for our final university exams, which could take another couple of months. Unfortunately our Punakea coding-time is very limited because of this.

But, the way Punakea was designed, you will not lose your tags! This was one of the biggest gripes I had with most other file management apps, that you would become locked in. Punakea has no internal database except for the number of clicks on a tag and the tag set combinations, so you can always retrieve your tags by accessing the finder's spotlight comments! Therefor you will always be able to search for your tags using spotlight.

We are determined to continue Punakea though, this is just a worst-case scenario ;)

Just wondering if you have

Just wondering if you have any rough updates on when there'll be a next release?

I realise you're very busy, but are you able to say whether it will be a few weeks or months?
Also are you able to reveal any features/changes that you've decided will definitely be in the next release?

Hey FOOOD! Good to know

Hey FOOOD!

Good to know you're still watching us :). I can't say anything definite until next week - I can only tell you this:

There's something in the air.

Not only at MacWorld, but also at nudge:nudge!

Yea, I'm checking here all

Yea, I'm checking here all the time ;)

Cool, I'll look forward to it, thanks.
