Hello,
I have dozens of tags and it has become difficult to efficiently locate them the way the tag cloud is currently organized and formatted (running left to right, fonts of different sizes depending on frequency of use/# of files tagged).
For me, it would be MUCH easier to select tags if they were organized in alpha-numeric vertical columns (similar to the way Garageband organizes its instruments and effects).
Along those lines, I would also like the option, in this new format, to have the option to not modify the appearance of the tags at all (no change for frequency of use/# of files tagged).
The interface would then be much easier to use and much cleaner for me.
Thanks very much for considering,
Sincerely,

Hi MePx,
this would mean a huge redesign of Punakea. We have been toying with ideas, but haven't come to any conclusions yet.
The tag cloud representation serves the dual purpose of showing important tags - while also making the tags accessible for mouse browsing. To quickly navigate the cloud, it is really useful to restrict the tags - either by prefix or by "wildcard"-search. You can execute this search either by clicking in the search field, or simply by starting to type some letters when the browser window is active. I use this a lot to quickly narrow down to specific tags - you can then use the arrow keys to highlight the tag you want, then simply press enter to select it.
I hope this helps making your experience more comfortable!
Cheers
