Punakea and the migration assistant

I just upgraded to a new MBP and used the migration assistant to transfer my profile from the old computer to the new one. Unfortunately it seems as if all tags are gone in the new computer. The tag cloud is there but when clicking a tag I get a message saying "no related tags". The files are in the Punakea folder but for some reason Punakea can no longer find the taged files.

Any solution?

Is Spotlight already

Is Spotlight already finished indexing? I think the migration assistant doesn't copy the database but reindexes everything.
You can check if the tags are still on the files by having a look at the file's Finder Comment in the info panel. If they still are, just wait for Spotlight to catch up :)

I have checked the file info

I have checked the file info and the files have their tags intact. By now I also guess that Spotlight has had the time to go through my hard drive. However, Punakea still states that there are "no related tag" to my files.

Any suggestions?

I have now reinstalled

I have now reinstalled Punakea and now there are no tags at all in the cloud. I still have a folder named "punakea files" with all my files. Each file has tags attached to it (according to file info). How do I get Punakea to "import" these files with tha tags.

You can use the

You can use the 'Tools->Clean Up Tag Database' action in the Menu, this will import all tags from files. Punakea itself has no control over the files, though, it will only extract the tags from the comment. You have to make sure that Spotlight finds the files :)

You can check if Spotlight 'knows' the file by opening the Terminal and type 'mdls any_filename'. If the kMDItemFinderComment contains the tags, Spotlight (and thus Punakea) will find the file.

Fixed. Did as you proposed

Fixed. Did as you proposed -used the Clean Up Tag Database and then let Spotlight re-index the whole HD. Now everything is OK.
