Creating automator service to tag files as enter a folder/ is there a way to make a service menu to add tags?

hello,

On page 3 of the support forums (of course the page # will change as time goes by) but here it is:

http://www.nudgenudge.eu/support/solved-applescript-question

I am curious about this applescript. I made an automator folder service that is prompted when a file is added to the downloads folder. It allows me to chose the most recent file then I have it launch punkea and, using "watch me do," it opens the tagger window.

But this is where I would like to have that same file sent to punkea but instead I have to go to the downloads folder and drag that file to the tagger window.

So, the workflow is almost golden.

Is this applescript something that can help me with my goal?

If not is there any way to make a service menu to add tags using punkea?

Sincerely,

nimaipandit

Gibt's was Neues?

It's been a while since your users heard something about Punakea - a small blog post about what's happening at nudge:nudge would be most welcome…if only for marketing purposes. To remind people of this little tagging gem.

Praise and a question

Just some general praise and a question/suggestion follow . . .

The Praise: After buying and using several different tagging apps I think that Punakea is the most useful, full-featured, and well-designed app of all. I also appreciate the screencast and the general intuitive layout of the features. I very much look forward to the development and supporting Punakea in the future.

Punakea 1.0.2 RC 1

For those of you who browse the forums but do not read the blog: we've released a new version of Punakea that doesn't come via auto-update. We'd be happy if you tested it - we'll release it as soon as we get some positive feedback from you :)

Cheers,
Johannes

sugarsync

Hi,
I have been using sugarsync to sync my macbook pro and my macbook air (very similar operation to getdropbox). I use Punakea for file management (which I love). FYI, sugarsync supports xattr so files saved and taggd on one computer are synced to the other with tags preserved.

The setup works very effectively - everything happens automatically after the initial setup.

Thanks for a great product - Punakea is hands down, the best and simplest file management utility around. Combined with sugarsync, its the perfect solution for me.

removing open meta tags set by third party tagger

Hi there

I am using punakea and mailtags (indev.ca), both of which are now using the openmeta standard. however, while my MT-tagged mail messages show up in punakea, it is not possible to remove tags from punakea that where added by MT. I know this is only partly your issue, and I posted it in the other forum as well http://www.indev.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1433&p=4498#p4498 , but I was just wondering if all those adopting openmeta thought about how this makes their app interact with other apps using this standard.

cheers, michael

Files are no longer with certain tasks, help please??

For some strange reason, files that I could find under a tag I can no longer find under that specific tag. These are about 3 tags which when I click are missing all files.

However, I did some digging and found the tags folder and in there are all my files under the relevant tags. So they are still on my computer but I can no loner access them from the Punakea program.

Please help as I need to get this fixed asap. Thank you very much.

updates?

I'm curious about the development of Punakea. Are you still actively working on it? any news at all would be most welcome. Punakea 0.4 is still great, but I've become so used to the various features in Leopard, such as QuickLook, that I miss them in Punakea.

Hope to hear from you asap.

Thanks!

Future of Tagging in Punakea

Great app guys!
I have bin hunting for a suite of apps to organize some 250 GB of files for 2 businesses and personal stuff.
Suffice to say regular Hierarchical folder structure is not enough nor is normal searching ;)

I have also tried Tagbot and MetaTag but prefer Punakea on many points. However I'm concerned with the comment field. Is there a way to let punakea work more along the lines of @ or & which Leap and the other tag apps use?
